Marvel’s X-Men Have Their Cast... and HOLY MUTANT MAYHEM!

Marvel’s mutant era is officially taking shape, and somebody at Xavier’s School has clearly been doing their homework.

Kevin Feige took the stage at D23 on Friday and finally revealed the first wave of Marvel Studios’ new X-Men, giving us our clearest look yet at the team that will bring mutantkind fully into the MCU.

And this roster? Yeah, we’re feeling pretty uncanny about it.

Leading the new class are Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, and Maya Boyd as Storm.

But every good X-Men story needs a villain lurking beneath the surface, probably surrounded by cloning tubes and questionable science experiments.

Enter Adam Driver as Mr. Sinister.

That casting alone feels like somebody activated Cerebro and searched specifically for “actor capable of being deeply unsettling while wearing an absurd cape.”

Marvel’s X-Men is currently scheduled to hit theaters May 5, 2028, marking the team’s first proper big-screen assembly since 2019’s Dark Phoenix.

Of course, the X-gene has already been creeping back into Marvel movies.

Several members of Fox’s original X-Men generation are returning for Avengers: Doomsday, including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Kelsey Grammer, Alan Cumming and Rebecca Romijn. They’ll join the larger MCU battle against Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.

Meanwhile, Deadpool & Wolverine cracked open the dimensional door even wider, bringing Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine back into action and finally giving Channing Tatum’s Gambit his moment in the sun. Gambit will also return in Doomsday.

After Fox’s mutant universe quietly limped across the finish line with The New Mutants in 2020, Marvel now has the chance to start fresh.

New Xavier.

New Cyclops.

New Storm.

New Rogue.

New Jean Grey.

And one extremely sinister Adam Driver.
