Tom Cruise's DIGGER is expected to bomb at the box office with a $20M opening weekend. NO IT IS NOT A MUSICAL. But it is the most Political Movie Cruise has ever done. Which has led us to believe... This one is about the Oscar.

45 Movies... and no Oscars to be found. Not even 1989's BORN ON THE FOURTH OF JULY, though nominated he was beat out by Daniel Day-Lewis in MY LEFT FOOT.

And while he was nominated again for 1996's JERRY MAGUIRE, he was beat by Geoffrey Rush for SHINE.. I know, what a rip off. Tom did get an HONORARY Oscar in 2025 for Lifetime Achievement, which is a way for the Academy to say, "Oh Damn, Our bad you never won one."

But DIGGER has all the right things going for it to grab Tom his first Best Actor Award:

\- It's visually stunning filmed in Vista Vision

\- It's a Political Satire on "Idiot Politicians Ruining the World"

\- Tom Cruise transforms himself into a character

\- Directed by Alejandro Inarritu (THE REVENANT, BIRDMAN), can be the engine behind convincing the Academy.

Word of Mouth will be the driving force behind DIGGER being successful at the Box Office, but the true success in Cruise's eyes, might be what ends up on his mantle.
